There isn't much to say about me that I haven't already elsewhere in the journal, or on one of my many sites around the great grand Intraweb. If you're bored, you might want to catch up sometime.
A detailed list of the user-specific tags involved in my journal:
333
I swear to God, this number is haunting me. [*]
Ads
The commercial begins with a compact Scion tC cruising down the road. At one point, it stops at a red light, and a shark painted on a nearby building leaps out of the wall, flies around the car, and zips back into a different wall. At the bottom of the screen is the caption "Animation—not an actual car." Wait. You mean to say there's not a real car that can change its bodily trim while driving? Next you'll be telling me there's no such thing as a flying wall shark. [*]
Apple
I'd like to show you this article from The Guardian. The title of the article is "I hate Macs," so I'm guessing the author might have a grudge of some sort. [*]
Art
When I've got a new shiny something I've crafted with my very own hands, this is the tag you'll see.
Book
When I've typed up what I consider a particularly polished turd, then this tag will appear. I'm thinking of writing a book based on this journal at some point down the road, and this helps highlight the best material for me, when I eventually begin composing.
Cool Link
You've gotta blow time on the Internet somehow. I try to make it a point of showing you some of the more interesting content this great series of tubes offers.
DDR
This is mostly outdated, since I don't really play the game much anymore, but if I do happen to have a new score or "Dance Dance Revolution"-related news to share, I'll use this tag.
Dork
It's a general assumption that nearly all games that are based on pre-existing, non-game-related intellectual properties (i.e. "licensed" games) suck the big joystick, particularly movie-based games, and I'm happy to report that "Happy Feet" does, in fact, uphold that proud tradition. [*]
English
"Welcome: To Thieves Will Be Shot." Okay. Now, I've spent years trying to decode this sign. It could be that the signmaker, like many of my ignorant college brethren, meant "two," the number, instead of "to." This is a valid theory, except that it wouldn't keep determined thieves from breaking in. A smart, determined thief would simply hire two unknowing lackeys, and then once they were shot, he'd be free to go in and claim the goods. I'm not entirely sure why the owner would shoot only two thieves in this case, perhaps some bullet shortage. [*]
Evil
Wouldn't you know it? I finally go to the trouble of rigging up a hidden camera in a pretty girl's shower, and I set it up so all I can see is the top of her head. Story of my life. [*]
Film
I have unleashed the sheer terror and foul horror that is my high-school-era stop-motion animation piece set in the Mega Man X universe, titled "21XX," in honor of the titles' ambiguous dating structure. I wouldn't call it a "film" so much—that would degrade the very fabric of film itself, and might even insult the likes of "Daredevil" and "Over the Top," were I to actually call it a film, much as Kevin Federline insults fast-food workers by appearing as one in an ad. [*]
Guitar Hero
I've said it before, and I'll continue saying it until I die, probably: "Guitar Hero" freaking rocks. [*]
Headache
Thinking all the time? I certainly couldn't do that with my life. I'd get headaches out the yinyang. [*]
Hypothetical
What if the U.S. Government, in an effort to grow the economy, just decided to stop handing out money tomorrow? No more welfare, no more government-funded scholarships, no more Social Security or stupid, arbitrary grants to start a coffeeshop—think of how prices on things would come down, after the initial shock. [*]
Insomnia
You might ask yourself what I'm doing up at such an hour. Then you might remember that this is me we're talking about. [*]
Issues
I believe that people that are of age, no matter what their gender, ought to be allowed to marry, if they so choose. Marriage should stay a bond between only two people, certainly, but I do not believe that who those two people are should make the marriage any less valid, at least legally. [*]
MagPo
Short for "magnetic poetry," this is a tag I hoped to use a lot more than I actually ever did. I haven't touched the tiles in awhile now, although I still think the idea is neat.
Meta
When it has to do with me elsewhere on the Internet, and it's not reflected with any other tag, this is what shows up. It's an ego-trip and a placeholder, all in one!
Music Link
Speaking of music, here're a few music tracks I have on my iTunes list that I really, really enjoy—I'd encourage you to give 'em a listen... [*]
Ninjas/Pirates
When I look closer, I see that there are many others walking toward the equipment, and nearly all of them are dressed like pirates. Sparrow is there at the front of new pirate mob, and they all walk up to the construction equipment. THEY ARE ZOMBIE PIRATES. [*]
Photo
BIG SURPRISE! When an entry involves a photograph of some sort that I took, I'll tag it with this.
Photoshop
[*]
Podcast
If you're a geek, you'll like this show; if you're not a geek, then you'll love this show anyway, because it'll make you feel that much better about your life. [*]
Rant
Surely you've seen at least one Ovaltine ad—to me, they roughly translate into the visual equivalent of a unicorn fart. That is to say, they're overly peppy, as if the secret ingredient in the chocolate mix is actually crushed Prozac tablets. [*]
Rock Band
I drummed for two songs, played bass for two, and sang for "Don't Fear the Reaper." Only song I knew all the lyrics to going in. 'Twas fun, though. The singer gets to tap on the mic with his hand in lieu of cowbell. Gene Frenkel, we barely knew ye. [*]
School
After conferencing with Mark Lambert—my Nautlius News and Electronic Field Production professor—this morning, he let me in on the little secret I probably should have heard before I signed up for classes this semester: especially considering the work load I have now, and how stressed I was a few days ago about my prospects for success in these classes, I should drop Nautilus News and continue on with just EFP. [*]
Smash
Nintendo's little fighting series is one of the best things in the history of history—along, incidentally, with bacon, the spork, The Joker, and Chuck Norris.
SOaP
At one time, I thought it could have been the greatest movie ever. In the end, it just took itself too seriously.
Thoughtstream
See also Pensieve. When I just need to empty my brain of all its idle thoughts, here's its tag.
Travel
I haven't really been to many places on this little blue marble, but when I do venture beyond my normal stomping grounds, here's the tag you'll inevitably see.
Video
Thank God for YouTube. [*]
Voice
My voice acting career takes a slightly insane bent today, as the first appearance of The Joker in Pendant Audio's "Batman: The Ace of Detectives," Issue 2. [*]
Work
At about 11 or so, Mom comes in my room, wakes me up and hands me the phone. Groggily, I talk to Tyler, the manager of the arcade, who wants me to come in at 1. I try to hem and haw out of it, of course--I had just then officially waken up, and I didn't see myself making it in at 1. Somewhere between my groggy tone and my mom leering over me, she gives me one of those hissy, not-so-discreet Mom whispers: "You CAN make it in at 1! It's only 11!" Thanks a lot, Mom. Really. Couldn't have done it without you. [*]
Writing
I write and draw? No. Way.
